Brand & Web Design for a Psychiatry Practice
In Fall 2025 I worked with Engel Solutions to build out original branding and an upgraded website for Dr. Tamara L. Tencer, a Psychologist based just outside of Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Tencer’s practice is built on both empathy and expertise. According to the brief, the logo must capture this balance by being emotionally approachable while also maintaining the credibility and professionalism of high-level psychiatry. It must connect with a wide range of audiences, from children and families seeking comfort to CEOs and medical professionals seeking trusted, expert care.
Logo & Branding
Initial Ideation
I centered my concepts around key brand imagery that was discussed with Dr. Tencer such as the sun over water and lenses helping her clients see their lives through a new perspective.
Official Logo
The final logo design draws from the symbolism of lenses and the sun. The lens represents focus, clarity, and perspective, which mirror the role of psychiatry in helping patients better understand themselves and their experiences. The sun conveys warmth, energy, and renewal, reflecting the sense of hope and growth Dr. Tencer’s team strive to foster in their patients.
By abstracting these elements into a simple and modern mark, the logo captures both the precision of a professional practice and the approachable optimism that patients look for in their care.
Website Design
This project was an exciting opportunity to explore UI Design by building a professional website to highlight Dr. Tencer’s team of counselors and establish a strong brand image online. I built the website in SquareSpace, and utilized embedded Simple Practice forms to help clients schedule appointments through Dr. Tencer’s established practice management tool.
